Wall Street holiday: U.S. stock markets will remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, and will close early on Tuesday, December 24, in honor of the Christmas holidays and Christmas Eve, respectively. Trading operations on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will remain closed for Christmas celebrations in the world’s largest economy, according to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

The US stock markets will be open for half a day on Tuesday, December 24, closing early at 1:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time) for Christmas Eve. The US bond market will also close early at 2pm on December 24, just before Christmas. After closing early before the Christmas holidays, the US stock market will continue to function normally until the New Year’s holidays in January.

The next scheduled close of the US stock market is on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, for New Year’s 2025. As on Christmas Eve, trading activity on Wall Street will close earlier the day before, i.e. on Tuesday, December 31.
