Apple shares itself in Focus on Monday after the US announces upcoming ‘special rates’ for smartphone -import

Stock Market

American stock market: Apple Inc. – Shares are ready to focus on Monday, April 14, after the American trade secretary Howard Lutnick had clarified that the nation will soon impose a set of “special rates” on all smartphone and computer imports in the Western Nation.

Lutnick, in an interview with ABC News On Sunday, April 13, it said that products such as smartphones, laptops, hard drives, computer processors, memory chips and other electrical components will be included in a “special focus type”.

The report also states that the US government will announce this new rate in the coming period of one to two months.

This step comes after the US President Donald Trump announced on Friday 11 April that the import of smartphone and laptop in the Western Nation will not be subject to the high “reciprocal rates” announced earlier this month on 2 April 2025.

This step caused a delay for American market investors, who expected that Trump’s announcement would de-escalate the current trade war between the United States and other world countries. This step was also considered a break for companies such as Apple, which produce their products in countries such as China and Vietnam.

American markets will be reopened on Monday, April 14, where investors will act, so that this recent development remains in focus.
